The government have recently announced a package that will help landlords and tenants affected by the Coronavirus. In these uncertain times there will be people that become ill, people that are self-isolating and people who lose jobs, these people may struggle to pay all of their rent so a decision has been made that landlords will not be able to start eviction proceedings for a 3 month period so tenants do not have to be concerned with loosing their home for this time.
The rent will, however, still remain your responsibility so it is important that you pay as much rent as you can afford as this will reduce the amount of arrears that you will have to catch up on in 3 months time when this rule is lifted.
