Earth Day was established in the United States in 1970 and is celebrated each year on 22 April. It is a day when we can think about our planet and what we can do to benefit it, we can think about saving water, reducing pollution, recycling, protecting nature – our plants, trees and wildlife.
We have listed ……. easy things that we can do today to celebrate Earth Day with our families:
- Leave the car behind and go for a walk or a bike ride to the park or the local shops
- Bake some biscuits and decorate with icing making it look like Earth
- Have a declutter and donate your unwanted books and toys to a local charity shop
- Plant a tree in your garden
- Make a nature area in your garden, pile up some logs in a quiet corner and watch the bugs move in
- Have a nature hunt in your garden or a local park
Whatever you decide to do for Earth Day have lots of fun and enjoy the end of the Easter Holidays
